Prime Minister of Sweden(1991–1994) and Foreign Minister of Sweden (2006–2014). In 1995, he became EU Special Representative for the former Yugoslavia, co-chaired the Dayton Peace Talks, and became the first High Representative for Bosnia and Herzegovina. He later served as UN Special Envoy for the Balkans and as a member of the International Balkan Commission. In 2008, together with Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski, he initiated the EU’s Eastern Partnership. Carl Bildt is a prominent advocate and supporter of both Ukrainian sovereignty and EU integration.
